I'm baaaaack!
And, yes, I had a good time and i'm happy to be back in my life. Melanie is here and we're just pleased as punch to be around each other. We're also getting rather too attached to each other for our own good, but we'll figure out what the heck we're going to do about that later.
I'll be writing up a travelogue up in the next couple of days, which should be fun. We visited a bunch of places in the three days we took to drive from Iowa to Seattle, and I have a couple of really cheesy souveniers. I also did some of the driving (I hadn't driven since I was 16, and it was actually FUN this time around).
And the trip....oh, my. i can look at it now, and say, I needed that. Because I did. I blew my head away along with all my assumptions, and have returned if not a new person than at least with my edges tidied up and my hurt places comforted.
She reaches inside of me, you see, and she strokes down the places that bristle and she builds up the weak places and celebrates with me the strong things. And she tells me the truth and shares her perceptions.
So. Um. That's love right there, I think. It's pretty nice. And we will hold it for as long as it lasts and let go of it when we need to, because that is the nature of whatever it is you call the thing that lies between us.
Otherwise, things are just sort of a little weird. I spent the vacation offline, and I didn't even miss it all that much. I do have some fun ideas for things I want to do, and I need to come up with a couple of preliminary designs for www.warrenellis.com sometime this week. We're having severe staff turnover in the production department at work, so that'll get busy for a while I think.
And, of course, i have to update this site and work on opd. A new splash image for this site may go online tonight, but definitely tomorrow if not before.
So yadda yadda yadda, etc. I'm not being very entertaining right now, but it's because i'm still rather tired from the three-day drive. More exciting stuff tomorrow.
