July 30th: are those my brains? neat!

"and I would be the one to hold you down
kiss you so hard I'd take your breath away
and after I'd wipe away the tears
just close your eyes, dear"
—Sarah McLachlan

Dream:

I was back in high school, and instead of PE we were treated to a performance by Natalie Imbruglia. she was singing "Torn", while everyone pointed themselveas at the stage and watched. A bunch of people had cameras—Aldo, a guy I knew in high school, had one attached to his face. someone else had an old-fashiopned flash (you know, the kind that explode) going off continuously, which filled the stage with smoke.

I wonder if this means i need to buy "Left of the Middle".

Reality:

I can't decide what's different. But something is, definitely.

It's like i'm enjoying things like I haven't enjoyed them for years. I went out with the Lauras again a couple of nights ago, and we went to one of those places that have seafood feasts, where they steam a whole bunch of seafood and dump it out on your table. The blonde Laura and I ate and ate and ate for two hours before we finished. And all that time we were smashing crab legs with mallets and chattering and just generally having a good time.

And i got a Coca-Cola polar bear out of one of those claw machines. The first time I've EVER gotten anything out of one of those. I was impressed with myself.

It rained here this morning. Finally. After days and days of unrelenting heat and the upper floor of Madstop trapping that heat like there was no tomorrow, it rained. And it's cool outside. And I feel so much better because of it.

Well, that and I'm getting over the second of the sinus infections i've had recently. Pfaugh. Get under a little stress and my body goes all to hell. I have seen some really interesting stuff come out of my nose recently, though.
